How Much Does a Smart System Cost?
So how much does a smartphone system cost? Well that’s a real piece of string. Question, how long is a piece of string? It depends on what you want your smart home system to do. So let’s just quickly run through what a smart home system will do, it starts off with an alarm.
You can add in camera systems, you can have a video doorbell, you may want to have a central heating thermostat involved. You could have smart lighting included on your system. It could potentially control door locks, garage doors, and gates, and it can also control electrical appliances as well.
So there’s so much that it can do. Uh, but I guess the beauty of a smart home system is that you don’t have to go full on straight away. You can start off with a small alarm system, then add cameras, then add thermostat, then maybe add the door locks in so you don’t have to start off with it, being the all singing, all dancing complete home thing straight away.
If you were just going to have an alarm system, part of it and then build up from there, you would probably be looking for ah, a reasonable sized home. You’d probably be looking at around 1000 pounds to start off with. As you add cameras in, then they would go at maybe two 3400 each depending on which you want to do.
A thermostat once you’ve got that installed would probably be I would say around kind of 500, 600, something like that. Lighting, number of different ways that lighting can go, so that one’s a difficult one to kind of give a price to. There’s lots of different, ways that lighting can go and we’ll do a video on that in the not too distant future too, things like gates.
Well if you’ve already got gate automation installed, then adding in the controller for it to link it back to the smart home system is relatively minor, probably two to 300 pounds, something like that, in terms of how much it is to, automate your gates, well you’re looking at several thousand for that, I would think.
That’s not something that I’m expert in so I can’t really give you more indication of cost than that and then as I say you just build it up from there until you get to a place where you want to do. So hopefully that gives you some indication of the, it’s.
