5 Things to Consider Functions
In the fourth of our videos discussing the factors you need to consider when installing a CCTV system. I want to think about the functions that you need your system to perform now. CCTV cameras these days are so much more advanced than they used to be 2030 years ago.
Back in those days your camera just recorded stuff and that was it. These days cameras can perform an awful lot of functions. So do you need a camera to deliberately not record certain areas of its view? So we can mask off certain areas.
Do you need an alert setup when an object crosses a line? Do you want an alert set up when there’s activity within a certain portion of the field of view? Do you want cameras to set up an alert if it spots a human or if it spots a specific face?
There are other functions as well for example, if you need to take or have a camera set in the middle of the ceiling of a room that sees all of the room, then you need to think about having a fisheye camera installed. If you have an area that you want to cover where you want to be able to zoom in on certain points, or you need to vary which part of the area is being viewed, then you need to use a pan tilt zoom camera.
There are cameras available which will automatically track through specific preset areas of view which can be zoomed in and out, as presets. You may want a camera that can recognise that there’s a human being in the view and automatically track it so that it moves its camera around and its view around as the human moves around.
These are all factors that need to be considered and we can accommodate all sorts of different requirements. So think about what you want the system to do, and we’ll see whether we can accomplish it.
