Think like a burglar

Take a look out of the front window.

Not to be nosy, because that’s not like you.

But, think like a burglar.

Look critically at the houses across the street. Which ones do you think might be targeted by a burglar? Take a look at the houses with an alarm box. Which look like they might be fake? Which look like they might be a cheap-o DIY system from Maplins or B&Q? Which look like they’ve been professionally fitted?

Take a look at the front doors. Who’s got an old wood door with only one lock? Who’s got an old uPVC door? And who’s door is nice and new? Because the newer doors have much stronger locks on them, and burglars know this.

Which is the one that you would target if you were a burglar?

Which is the easiest one to break into?

Now, go outside your front door, and turn around.
