One of the common mistakes people make when they’re fitting CCTV, particularly at home, is having the cameras too high up. If you think about it, if you’ve got a relatively short front garden area, if you’ve got that camera right at the top of the house, underneath the guttering by the roof, all you’re going to be able to see is the top of someone’s head. Now, a lot of burgers obviously just go around with a hoodie or a baseball cap or something like. Then you’re not going to be able to identify them at all. If you have the camera a bit further down, it makes it more obvious that you’ve got a camera system, so it acts as a deterrent, but also you get a much clearer view of their face.
