OK, ok, I’m nearly 50, Me, Myself and I don’t really like De La Soul, never did. But they had another song called “Three Is The Magic Number”.

And 3, apparently, is the magic number when it comes to the number of bedrooms in houses being burgled. Analysis by Churchill Insurance shows that nearly half of all homes burgled have 3 bedrooms.

Their analysis also showed that end-of-terrace homes are more likely to be burgled than mid-terrace – the reason being that access to the rear garden is generally easier.

And it’s a similar reason why ground floor flats are more vulnerable than flats in higher floors.

Make sure your locks are up to scratch – in houses they need to conform to BS3621 for wooden doors or TS007 3* for double glazed doors.
