All our mobile locksmiths are over 25, and have undergone a thorough training scheme, which we designed ourselves, since nothing that was available met our needs. We are regularly inspected by the Master Locksmiths Association.
All our locksmiths live in Portsmouth, or the immediate area. We don’t have to travel far to get to you, so we’ll be with you quickly.
If you’ve ever experienced that sinking feeling when you realise you can’t find your keys, you’ll also remember the relief of seeing help arrive. Even in the middle of the night, or over holiday periods, our locksmith Portsmouth emergency call-out team are ready to react.
We always prefer to use non-destructive means of opening a door. To help us, we have access to a wide range of specialist tools, not available to the general public.
The huge range of double glazing door and window locks is staggering – there are literally thousands to choose from. And it’s not as simple to change as with a wooden door – with wood you can chisel a bit more wood off, or use some filler if necessary.
This is why using our professional locksmith service is so worthwhile. Our experienced staff is constantly carrying out work like this, so we know to avoid the common pitfalls, and your job is completed faster.
We’ve got a wide range of replacement parts in stock, including locks from all the major manufacturers, as well as handles, strike plates, and an excellent range of window mechanisms and spares, too. You can rely on us to solve your problem quickly.
If you’re responsible for a building and its doors, you know that it’s vital that emergency exit doors open first time, every time.
It doesn’t matter if there are other factors as well — human life, in an emergency, comes before profit.
There are two standards for emergency exit hardware, BSEN1125 & BSEN179, and we can advise which your doors are required to meet, as well as installing hardware which meets that standard.
The question we get asked the most when people call is “how much will it cost?” We can’t give you an exact price for every single job on this page, but we can give you some guides.
If you’re locked out because you’ve forgotten to bring your keys, or there’s a key on the inside of the door, then if you’re in Portsmouth, it’ll be £50 to get the door open. If you live a little further away, it’s £75. For an out-of-hours call in Portsmouth, it’s £80 and £100 if you live further afield. (The further afield thing is subject to geographic limits — we aren’t going to Scotland for £75!)
To change a lock cylinder or two, then those same rates apply, and the price of the cylinders will be added — these are generally no more than around £20, with some exceptions.
For more complicated issues, like faulty locks, then it’s £90 for the first 30 minutes work, then £45 for any subsequent half-hour period (or part), during normal working hours. Out of hours, it’s £140 for the first hour, then £70 for any additional 30 minute period (or part). Again, these are subject to geographic limits.
For total transparency, all the prices given here include VAT
