How do you keep some parts of an alarm system armed when the rest isn’t?

5th August 2021 By Scott

Some people want to be able to keep parts of their home protected by their alarm system, whilst occupying other parts. Our latest client has an outbuilding that will be alarmed far more than the main house. The usual fobs will only set and unset the entire system, so we’re using one of these little gizmos, a touchscreen keypad.

We’re actually splitting the system into 3 sections (known to us posh alarm types as partitions) as they have another part of their property with similar needs. The touchscreen keypad gives them complete control, allowing them to arm the 3 partitions separately.
